Chaplain (Dr.) Chris. C. Obilam, Ph.D., was born in Nigeria, West Africa, and he was Born-Again on 01 October 1984. He was trained by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM - https://dclm.org/) under the leadership [and self-claimed mentorship] of Pastor (Dr.) W. F. Kumuyi. Chris relocated to the USA in 1996 as a student pilot and refused to answer God's call into Christian ministry until January 2001 at the Carolina Medical Center, USA, after a series of near-death experiences. Then, Chris pastored the DCLM’s Deeper Life Bible Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, until 2002.
Between 1985 and 2025, Chris earned three U-G Diplomas, a BA, a M.Div., a D.Min., and a Ph.D. in Aircraft Avionics, Computer Data Processing, Computer Information Systems, Philosophy, Divinity, Christian Ministry, Suicide Prevention/Intervention/Postvention, and Spiritual Leadership/Counseling.
From 2006 to 2022, Chris was trained for clinical chaplaincy by the Johns Hopkins University Health System (https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/about/johnshopkins-health-system-corp), the Yale University Health System (https://www.ynhhs.org/), the Duke University Health System https://www.dukehealth.org/), the Rush University Health System (https://www.rush.edu/), and the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), a part of the United States Military Health System (https://health.mil/Search-Results?query=BAMC&refSrc=1).
When he is not on scheduled counseling, ministry, or chaplaincy services [out-of-town], Brother Chris attends a "Deeper than Deeper Life Church," the West Haven Amish Mennonite Church in New Holland, PA, under the leadership of Pastor Ben Stoltzfus. Chris is married to Shelley Obilam. They have several surrogate [non-biological] children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
