Chaplain (Pastor) Joachim E. Ogu, Msc.
Ogu Joachim Elemechi was born in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria, and he was Born-Again in 1977. He was raised in a religious home within the Roman Catholic tradition. In January 1975, he relocated to Lagos, Nigeria, in pursuit of better opportunities. He was subsequently nurtured and discipled through the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) and the Assemblies of God Church. At that time, the DCLM operated as a non-denominational ministry, and new converts were affiliated with established churches; Mr. Elemechi was attached to the Assemblies of God, where he received water baptism. Despite this affiliation, he remained actively involved in Deeper Life Christian Ministry programs and activities.
In December 1981, the DCLM organized a strategic evangelistic outreach initiative aimed at engaging former Roman Catholics to reach others within the Catholic community, as well as members of other denominations. This initiative significantly shaped Brother Joachim’s ministerial direction and ultimately led him into the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Ministries (WCCRM), where he continues to serve faithfully today.
